Disney

What a Magical Experience!!
Jeff and I went to Disney World this past weekend - his first trip ever! Our inner child came out as we road the rides and searched for the "characters". We had a great time.

Our (my departments) annual sales meeting was held at the Beach Club Disney resort that week so, I decided to stay the weekend and have Jeff fly down to met me. We went to Epcot Friday - went around the world! Then the Magic Kingdom on Saturday.

The weather was perfect Friday - mid 80's and then got a little cooler on Saturday but still relatively nice compared to Memphis.

We missed out on "Soaring" at Epcot but made it to all the other rides. Plus all of the countries!

Of course we had to stop in Paris and get a glass of wine :)

It's fun seeing people get together smiling, relaxing, and acting like children!
Such a fun place!

Atlanta Here I Come

I am heading to Atlanta this weekend with my sister and Mom. A little girls trip - YAY!!

We have a long list of places we want to go but one of them is Scott's Antique Market . I am sooo excited about going because I have soo much I want to buy for the house. I have never been there but hear it is AMAZING!

Things on my list to look for:

  • More bookshelves items - which is harder than it sounds because my bookshelves are not tall which limits a lot of the cute items I want to use. For example, I love when bookshelves have lamps that illuminate the area - Unfortunately, no lamps will fit :( So the search begins.

  • Potentially, a chair for the office - I've been in search for one but keep going back and forth on the fabric options. Part of me want to choose something that is young and different but then the other part of me want to pick something that I will like for a while and wont get sick of.

  • Frames & Art work for Office and/or Bedrooms - I want to use different types frames for the office similar to what Kate Spade did: (P.S. I love her - we just got a Kate Spade store in Memphis and I am soooo Excited!! Spent about two hours in the store the first time i went - not really sure how, considering it is pretty tiny. Needless to say, they had some great items and great sales!!!)

  • Seating/Bench - I have been wanting a bench in my mud room/laundry room. I have found this cute little bench from West Elm but just checked recently and they don't sell it anymore :( I will have to keep my eye out for something else

No matter what I find or don't find it will be a fun trip. Dad is hooking us up with rooms at the Ritz Carlton so it will for sure be a great time! Thanks Dad! Wish us luck!

Bday Bash / 1st Party

We had a b-day get together for my brother in-law/ our first house party this weekend!! What a great way to break in our house!

After several long days and busy nights our house was ready for a party by Saturday (and so were we). Mom and Aunt Anne came up to Memphis this past week and were a HUGE help in unpacking/decorating/hanging/etc. I took a couple of half days off from work but it wasn't nearly enough time to get everything done. Poor Jeff did not have any time off and as soon as he got home we put him and Bern to work doing the heavy lifting and major mirror hanging.

It was a busy week - I went to the grocery store at least once every day, Lowe's about 6 times, and Sheffield antique store 3 times. I guess I'm not good at making one big list to avoid the several trips :)

This awesome green distressed table was a present from Mom and Dad- we found it at Sheffield's. Mom had a vision and knew exactly where we were going to put it in the house (more on that later). Aunt Anne also got two great Gothic shaped window panes. I am sad I didn't snap a pictures to show you - they were cool! The lady that worked there told us that they are opening up an upscale consignment store in December- it will be across from the Walmart in Collierville.
Soo Fun!

Jeff and Bern were put to work assembling these Adirondack chairs.
They still need to be stained and weather sealed - a project for this week.

Aunt Anne worked her magic on the deck and helped make it festive and inviting!
I can't wait for her to take on the bigger job of working her magic in both the back and front yard. It needs help in a major way.

We had a blast having everybody over.
It will be the first of many gatherings!

HGTV

I just found out that HGTV was at our "soon to be" new home filming last week!!!!

Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of details. We are waiting to hear back from their agent about which HGTV show was filming it. They do know that it will air sometime in February.
Sooo exciting!! I'll keep y'all informed as I learn more details.
In less than a week we close!

Have a good weekend!!

Baby Avery

This weekend I got to play with Baby Avery!

Our good friends, Ryan and Michelle, had their baby girl two weeks ago. They brought her out this weekend and I jumped on the chance to take some pictures. She is the prettiest little thing ever. I told Michelle to bring over some "props" and I will take some shots of her with my camera. Now, I am not a good photographer by any means, but I still like to try. Jeff got me a great camera last Christmas and I haven't mastered it yet. But, I figured it would be fun and a couple of shots might turn out ok.

She got a little fussy around lunch time so we had to take a break, but she is so sweet and we had fun with her.

I love this one :)

New Beginnings

Ohh my goodness, so much has happened in the last couple of weeks.

First thing first, Jeff got a new Job!!!! I am so excited for him as he made a huge decision to switch out of the IT world and into the wonderful arena of Finance! His new job: Senior Credit Analyst. He is learning from the best, IP has a great credit department and it will be a perfect introduction into the finance. I can tell he is extremely excited and I know he will do great - I am so proud of him!! No more half days on Friday :) here comes the monthend, budget, and forecasts. Congratulations Jeff!!!!

As you know we put our house on the market and 7 days later we had our first showing and that same day we got an offer that we accepted!! Here I am thinking that it would take 5-6 months to sell the house and within one month we are packed up and moving out. The best part (as if selling the house wasn't great enough) is that we found a house that I LOVE and have a contract on it!!! Closing date is set for October 15th!! It is a Grown up house for sure! No more town house - this one has a lot of space!!

It is in a wonderful neighborhood called "The Woods"
(hence all the trees)

We are sooo excited! We had the home inspection yesterday and everything went well. There are few areas that need to be fixed here and there but overall the house does not need that much work. I want to paint and do a lot of yard work but the actual aspects of the house are perfect for us and won't need updating. Jeff and I have been so lucky to have things go as smoothly as they have been and are so excited about this huge next step in our life. We officially move out of our townhouse this Thursday and move in with Jeff's parents. Then a month and a half later we get to move in!! Just in time for fall and the cooler weather to set in allowing us to enjoy our backyard, fireplace, and have Pit Parties!!

It's going to be soo much fun to decorate!!
We have lots of room so please come and visit!!
